Greetings

  Tomonobu Hasegawa, M.D., Ph.D.
Chair, The 55th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (JSPE)
Professor

It’s an honor and a great privilege to welcome you to the 55th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (JSPE), and at the same time I am keenly aware of the extent of my responsibilities for being a part of the history of JSPE which has a long tradition.

In this era of “living with the Corona Virus”, JSPE2022 will be held in hybrid format. In other words, it will be a hybrid of on-site at Pacifico Yokohama North + live streaming from November 1st to 3rd , 2022 and on-demand streaming from the end of the live event to mid-December (tentative). We will try to respond and operate flexibly while checking the COVID-19 infection trend.

As you might all know, I was originally appointed to the Chairman of the 54th Annual Meeting of the JSPE in 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, JSPE have web-hosted the 2020 Annual Meeting as a special scientific meeting. Accordingly, Dr. Toshihiro Tajima held the 54th Annual Meeting of the JSPE in 2021, and I will once again be in charge of the 55th Annual Meeting of the JSPE.

With the theme of “let us cultivate ourselves”, this year’s conference is held to further promote learning from, with, and alongside our esteemed colleagues to collectively elevate our community of pediatric endocrinology practitioners and researchers. Through sharing practical knowledge, experience, and research findings in our field, we hope that participants across experience levels, fields of specialty, gender, nationality, and ethnicity, all revel in discovering novel scientific and clinical breakthroughs to better patient care. We are currently preparing for the event together with the program committee members and the planning and operation committee members.

In planning this conference, we cannot emphasize enough that feedback and contributions we receive from you, the members, are the keystones to a productive, engaging and captivating event. To this end, we welcome your input on topics of interest, suggestions, requests, and, of course, abstract submissions so that we can continue to build dynamic and timely program offerings for all.

I sincerely look forward to meeting all of you at the 55th Annual Meeting for JSPE in Yokohama, Japan. Thank you.
